Camera+ Makes A Return to Apples App Store

If you are a fan of iPhone photography like I am you probably have a handful of Apps to help you edit those snaps taken on the device. One of the Apps that I use is photographer Lisa Bettany's hawked Camera+ by Tap Tap Tap. The application provides a number of filters and effects that can turn somewhat ordinary images into pocket masterpieces. Back in August Tap Tap Tap included an easter egg in the App that allowed you to use the volume keys on the iPhone to engage the "shutter" on the camera. That happens to be a violation of the SDK and the App was pulled from the App Store.

Camera+ is back in the App Store in version 2.0 and on sale for $0.99. Many improvements and new filters have been added to make the App even more of a "one-stop-shop" for editing. One very welcome improvement is the removal of the "SLR" screen making for a much simpler interface. Over 50 new effects, crops and filters have been added to Camera+. This update has definitely added significant value and capability to this program. On the business side Tap Tap Tap has added in-app purchasing of additional filters thus keeping the App fresh whenever the mood strikes. Bottom line is for $0.99, $1.99 or even $3.99 this app is a tool worth your valuable iPhone/iPod memory space.
